Classic Christmas Tunes 391 - Blackmore's Night - We Three Kings


Here is a sunny daytime view of the town square said to have inspired the album cover of "Winter Carols" from hence these songs have come.It is said to be the town of Rothenburg ob der Tauber, Bavaria, Germany. Looks quite quaint and appropriately medieval to me. Blackmore's Night loved the look so much it actually features on two album cover. this one covered with snow and an earlier one from the non-Christmas CD 'Under A Violet Moon' which looks like a nighttime scene almost akin to Halloween.

Once again Balcmore's night works their patented reanaissance medieval sound to marvelous effect. The use of unuusual horns and percussion adds greatly to the atmosphere. Here is yet another triumph for them
